The Conference: 2 – 6 July 2004
The Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning
Research looks forward to welcoming you to the next European Network
of Housing Research (ENHR) International Housing Conference. The
Conference will be held at Robinson College, University of Cambridge,
England from Friday July 2nd to Tuesday July 6th 2004.
The Conference Theme
The theme of the conference, Housing:
Growth and Regeneration, reflects both the exciting
opportunities to plan high quality housing for the twenty first
century and the immense challenges of ensuring adequate housing
for those with limited resources.
No longer is housing seen as simply about ensuring adequate shelter.
Rather it is more and more a core element in implementing a
wide range of broader
objectives: achieving acceptable overall living standards, promoting longer
term sustainability, and alleviating poverty for both young and old.
The conference theme aims to reflect this changing role of housing
as an engine for supporting wealth creation and for restructuring
older, mainly urban areas
as well as its pivotal function in the broader agenda of social inclusion.
The New Researchers Conference
As usual, there will be a conference for new
researchers, prior to the main Conference, held between Wednesday
June 30th and Friday July 2nd. This will give new researchers the
opportunity to present and discuss their ongoing research topic
and to gain feedback from their peer group and a panel of international
mentors. In past years, the pre-conference has provided a forum
for lively debate and discussion for PhD students, junior faculty
and other new researchers. Special thanks to Best Promo Code for the Uverse Coupon Codes
